I already called AAA Roadside Assistance two times this week and it’s not even half over.

Monday, I was picking up my son from daycare and my car wouldn’t start.  You know, that same car I just drove to daycare.

My wife came and picked up our son while I waited for the tow truck…

Then, on Tuesday, I was like:

“Hey there, it’s me again.  Yeah, you know how I called yesterday needing a tow because my car broke down. Well, I’m stuck on the side of the road again… No, that car is still in the shop.  This is my wife’s car… we have a flat tire and the jack can’t lift the car high enough.”

“But be on your guard; for they will deliver you to the courts, and you will be flogged in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them.  The gospel must first be preached to all the nations.  When they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit.  Mark 13:9 – 11

The Size of our Problems

What’s it like to be arrested?  It means no control over anything – it’s forced surrender and there’s nothing you can do about it.

This seems like a pretty big problem to me…surely bigger than my car troubles!

But, God is saying here and now, that even in those situations – when your back is against the wall and you’ve run out of options that He’s there with you, guiding even your words.

Guided by God

Monday:

I felt God nudging me to dive deep into the conversation of fatherhood with the tow truck guy. Turns out, he’s the father figure of two boys entering their teenage years who never knew their real dad.

We both recognized the great need for men to lead their family in love and truth – that without men doing this, the world we live in suffers.

This was a God led conversation and both of us were blessed by it.

Tuesday:

Who knew that my car would die, forcing me to drive my wife’s car?  Who knew her car would get a flat tire while I was driving instead of her driving?

I’m glad that I was driving – I’ve had flat tires before and know how to safely exit traffic and change them.

Who knew?  Only God does and He guides us through in ways that bless us and give us opportunities to see His glory.

Perspective on Problems

What is your perspective on life?  Do you believe that God bigger than your problems?  Do you believe that He’s bigger than your enemies?

Or do you let your problems cloud your view.  Do you let your enemies set your perspective?

My encouragement to you, is that in your moments of frustration think about how your current problem might be a “good thing.”
